A classic grilled cheese sandwich is coated with LAY’S® Classic Potato Chips for a crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside grilled cheese sandwich. Perfect for dipping in a classic tomato soup

Instructions

Step 1
Place 1 cup LAY’S® Classic Potato Chips on parchment paper–lined baking sheet; using rolling pin, finely crush.

Step 2
Spread mayonnaise over 1 side of each bread slice. Press mayo side of each slice into crushed chips.

Step 3
Sandwich cheddar between the 2 bread slices, chips-side facing out.

Step 4
In skillet set over medium-low heat, melt butter. Cook grill cheese sandwich, flipping once halfway through the cook time, for 4 to 6 minutes or until golden and toasted, and cheese is melted.

Step 5
Cut sandwich in half and serve with remaining potato chips on the side.

Tips & Tricks

Substitute sharp (old) cheddar cheese with medium or mild cheddar if preferred.

Serve with tomato soup if desired
